13th Annual Live Workshop was conducted on 3rd and 4th December 2011. It focused on Current Issues in Cardiac Surgery. The workshop was inaugurated by our Director on the 3rd morning. The visiting faculty were Prof. Antonio Mario Calafiore, Consultant Cardiac Surgeon, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Prof. Kenton Zehr, Chief of Cardiac Surgery, Director – Center for Aortic Diseases, Texas, A & M, USA, Prof. Hiroki Yamaguchi, Chief of Cardiac Surgery, Chiba, Japan, Prof. Jai S Raman, Chief of Cardiac Surgery, Director, Heart Transplant & Mechanical Support, Rush University, Chicago, USA. 3 patients were operated on the first day of the workshop. The second day of the workshop started with the review of cases. Another 3 patients were operated. About 170 leading cardiothoracic surgeons from all over India participated.
